Fully carved 5/8 Juzek labeled bass.  39-“3/4 string length, D neck.

Small Juzek basses were student models made by numerous luthiers around the German-Czech border and sold by the Juzek company, a NY area importer with roots in Prague. 

This bass has a very clear, clean sound. Easy to play, and in stable condition. Balanced tone throughout each register with significant low-end despite its size. The pizzicato sound has a very nice ‘“bloom” and a little growl. Recent  set up work includes new bridge, fingerboard dressing, endpin, soundpost.
