1939 Kay C-1
This is an unusual Kay bass which was sold to the Seller company as an unfinished instrument and completed in their Elkhart, Indiana shop and labeled as a "Manhattan by Selmer" (model 4506, serial #5664).
Selmer gave it a thick ebony fingerboard and Czech ,made timers. and a rather ugly varnish.
Since that time, it's had a good neck reset and set up, and been poorly over varnished.
I am selling it at the low end of the price range because aesthetically it's a bit of an ugly duckling, but it gets high marks for structural integrity and playability.
