Flat backed bass from the German region of Saxony made sometime in the late 19th century.  We recently gave it a nice thick ebony fingerboard,  a bridge and soundpost, and adjusted the string angle over the bridge to lower the tension on the top and improve the tone. This is one of our "Mojo Series" basses, one which is not a candidate for a full restoration, but is in stable condition, and has been made highly playable with the price kept to less than 1/2 of what a similar bass without the wear and tear would cost.
