The is Shen's basic oil varnished laminate bass, good looking, great sounding, and we sell quite a few to bassists who have already great old basses they don't want to expose to the hazards of club stages and outdoor festivals. 

This one has a couple of small shrinkage checks about 1/2 way up there heel that didn't cause a problem, but we reinforced them as we would a bass with a broken through heel crack as a precaution. We've been using this method of repair for over 20 years and have never had one come apart, so we feel confidant it's not going to be an issue.
